With nearly 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship and global business management, James has left his imprint on multiple business and companies. As a strategist, his skills include guerilla marketing and branding, operations, and revenue analysis, all backed by a natural gift for consultative sales. When he was young, James spent days and night coding games and building websites. A confident risk taker who had a love for technology and the internet brought James to California on a Greyhound bus to chase the “dotcom” rush. James ultimately landed in Los Angeles and Silicon Valley, but, he wasn’t coding…instead, he was tasked by organizations to hire the best talent in the marketplace instead. After the boom, James found himself in a senior position with one of the largest companies in the world, Fujitsu of Japan (a global company with revenue in the trillions) traveling the country and building out offices and hiring staff. Shortly, thereafter, at the age of 24, he started a management consulting firm, that would later become a part of Bristol and Bates. Under his leadership the company expanded, providing services to financial firms, venture-backed start-ups and also Fortune 500 organizations. Notable clients include the U.S. Government and Intel Capital Venture-backed portfolio companies.
In 2010, after spearheading the expansion of our company into newer and more diverse evolving markets, he began working and investing in disruptive markets such as digital entertainment, the cannabis industry, and other disruptive markets. Under his guidance, our company evolved and grew in multiple industries with investment projects and joint-venture in the U.S., Canada, and Spain/Europe.
In 2015 we began a significant venture with internet holding company/comglomorate. Founded in 1996, and based in South Florida the company owns multiple internet properties visited by millions of users daily. James currently reports to the board and has served as an operator of several of the organizations. Over the past 5 years he has held interim roles as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing a nationwide staff in Los Angeles, Orange County, and Phoenix, Arizona.
During his 20+ years as an entrepreneur, James has advised and worked alongside investors, boards, and C-level executives to help shape and build small and mid-level organizations into powerhouses. Functionally, James has held senior-level roles across the C-suite and numerous hands-on revenue impacting roles in business strategy and development.

Mr. Mai is an active investor in technology, crowdfunding, and both residential and commerical real estate REITs. James resides in Irvine, California and enjoys the beach, traveling, fitness, and spending time with his family and two sons.
